For your holiday entertainment this week, I’m bringing you a few of my favorite real estate related internet links. Ideally, they will inspire creativity, curiosity and perhaps even a flight of fancy or two.
EscapeArtist.com
Ever dream of getting away from it all– permanently? This international real estate marketplace features every conceivable kind of property, from a New Zealand vineyard to beach front homes in Panama. (If you want to buy something here, call me first so I get the referral - smile.)
www.vrbo.com
If you want to live like a native on your next vacation, this site has a comprehensive directory of Vacation Rentals by Owner, with apartment, home and villa listings in exotic locales all over the world.
maps.A9.com
This beta site from Amazon offers eye level views of millions of blocks from all around the country. It’s exceptionally handy on ugly rainy days when you want to eyeball a property without leaving home. A9 is also a great way to revisit those cool spots you saw on your summer vacation.
Google Earth
Google Earth offers laser precision satellite photos of every place on earth. I used it to check out my childhood home in Portola Valley (along with everything that’s been built around it). Please note that this site requires a quick free software download, and won’t run on MacIntosh or older computers (sorry).
My next email will be going out the week of January 1, 2006. Until then, happy holidays. And please keep me in mind should you hear of anyone wanting to make a move in the new year!
